Ted serves as Portfolio Manager and Senior Research Analyst on Ariel’s global equities team. In addition to his portfolio management responsibilities, he functions as an industry generalist. Ted joined Ariel as part of the emerging markets value team, where he covered technology stocks and Latin America for three years. Previously, he spent 16 years at AllianceBernstein (AB), most recently as a Senior Research Analyst on the value equities team. In that role, he covered all sectors across Latin America and served as Global Industry Leader for the commodities sector. Earlier in his tenure at AB, Ted was an analyst for the Strategic Opportunities Fund, a multi-asset hedge fund, where he evaluated both equity and credit investments. He also held roles within the firm’s wealth management group and worked on the trading and investment services teams. Outside of Ariel, Ted serves on the board of the Irvington Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting local public schools in New York. Fluent in French, he holds a BS in economics with a minor in mathematics from Duke University and is a CFA Charterholder.
