Slava's Expertise

As a Senior Research Analyst on Ariel’s emerging markets value team, Slava follows financials, media, healthcare, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Previously, Slava spent a decade with AllianceBernstein (AB), where he served in the capacity of senior research analyst focused on countries in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Prior to AB, he held the position of investment analyst at hedge fund, Triogem Asset Management, where he worked for five years, concentrating on emerging media and entertainment as well as EMEA markets. Early in his career, Slava was employed by several Russian banks where he operated in various capacities across the investment and commercial sides of their businesses. Born in Russia and fluent in the language, Slava holds a degree in economics with summa cum laude from the Siberian Academy of Public Administration, a diploma in applied macroeconomic policy from The Joint Vienna Institute and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
