Pascale's Expertise
Pascale is Ariel Alternatives’ Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer where she leads the compliance program and serves as primary legal counsel for the organization. Pascale is a non-voting member of Ariel Alternatives’ Investment and Valuation Committees and is a senior member of the Legal and Compliance Team of Ariel Investments, Ariel Alternatives’ parent company.
Before joining Ariel, Pascale served as the Deputy General Counsel and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer of Makena Capital Management LLC, a registered investment adviser with $24 billion of assets under management across single- and multi-asset class portfolios. At Makena, Pascale led all legal work for pooled investment vehicles and strategies, including private equity (buyout, venture capital, and private alternatives) and was responsible for the day-to-day management of the compliance program. Previously, Pascale was Managing Director and Assistant General Counsel at Z Capital Group, LLC, a registered investment adviser where she oversaw the day-to-day legal and compliance needs of the firm, including the structuring, offering and management of private equity funds, credit funds, co-investments, and CLOs.
Pascale began her career in the Sidley Austin Investment Products & Derivatives Group, advising alternative asset managers on the slew of legal matters impacting their investment advisory businesses, including structuring, offering, marketing, and operating private funds in accordance with federal securities laws.
Beyond Ariel, Pascale is a member of the Contemporary Support Council of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and is an active supporter of Duke University’s Nasher Museum of Art. Pascale graduated with a BS in psychology from Duke University and a JD from Harvard Law School.
