Josean's Expertise

Josean manages Ariel’s relationships with financial intermediaries and other third parties across the wealth management industry. Before joining the firm in 2021, Josean was a director at BlackRock where he served as head of strategic accounts for U.S. offshore clients, focusing on wirehouses, banks, broker dealers, family offices, and turnkey asset management programs. Previously, Josean was managing director and head of global private bank strategic accounts at OppenheimerFunds. Earlier in his career, he served as a regional director at Neuberger Berman. Outside of Ariel, Josean holds volunteer positions on the CFP board diversity advisory committee and is a founding board member of DIME, which is dedicated to building the next generation of diverse investors. He is also a CAIA Charterholder and serves as a member of its New York City Chapter. Previously, Josean served as executive chairman of the student affairs committee on the Bloomfield College board of trustees and was the co-chair of the Money Management Institute’s diversity and inclusion committee. He was also named to the Crain’s New York business list of notable Hispanic leaders. Josean earned a BS in finance from Bloomfield College and dual MBA degrees from Columbia Business School and the London Business School.
