Ariel Investments Announces New Director

Chicago, IL (August 1, 2019) — Ariel Investments, LLC has announced the election of Leslie A. Brun, chairman and chief executive officer of Sarr Group, to the company’s Board of Directors.

“Les Brun brings a wealth of expertise and leadership from more than 40 years of investment banking, commercial banking and financial advisory experience,” said Mellody Hobson, co-CEO and president of Ariel Investments. “We are confident Ariel will benefit greatly from his background and track record of growing successful companies.”

Mr. Brun is currently chairman of the board of directors of CDK Global, Inc., lead director of Merck & Co., Inc. and Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc., and also serves on the board of Corning, Inc. Additionally, he is a senior advisor of G100 Companies, a unique business partnership that combines the world’s best C-level learning communities with premier professional services firms.

Previously, Mr. Brun served as managing director in the New York office of CCMP Capital Advisors, and was the founder and past chairman emeritus of Hamilton Lane, the world’s leading Private Equity advisory and management firm. In addition, Mr. Brun held director positions at Automatic Data Processing, Inc., Hewlett Packard Enterprise and the Richcourt Group.

Mr. Brun is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, served on the Committee for the Reinvention of the Small Business Administration (S.B.A.), and is a former member of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s S.B.I.C. Advisory Council.

Mr. Brun holds a B.S. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus, and is a former trustee of the University at Buffalo Foundation, Inc., Widener University, as well as Episcopal Academy in Merion, PA.
